This is the application page for the 2018 Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program in Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science at Oregon State University. Pending funding renewal, Clay Petsche and Holly Swisher will co-direct the program which will support 10 undergraduate students for eight weeks during the summer of 2018.
Our web site provides a more detailed description of the program, descriptions of potential projects, and instructions on applying.
To apply you need to:
- Fill out the information on this page
- Write and upload a personal statement telling us why you want to participate in the program and what you currently see as your future plans. Your statement should be no more than one page long.
- Write and upload a second mathematical statement telling us the deepest or most interesting mathematical result you know and perhaps explain something about its proof and/or applications. This statement should also be no more that one page long.
- Upload an unofficial transcript.
- Provide names and email addresses of two faculty members who will upload letters of recommendation for you when they receive a prompt from mathprograms.org.
