The Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University will host a summer school on Stochastic Dynamics in Biology from June 22 to June 26, 2026. This summer school is designed for graduate students in mathematics and biology, as well as advanced undergraduate students. Participants need to have a background in probability and differential equations and be interested in mathematical biology. This summer school will introduce participants to the mathematical foundations of stochastic dynamics as applied to biological systems. Through lectures delivered by leading researchers in the field, students will explore how randomness shapes the behavior of biological populations. The program provides a rigorous introduction to modern techniques at the interface of probability theory, dynamical systems, and mathematical biology. The following three minicourses will be offered: 1) Stochastic Population Dynamics, 2) Stochastic Persistence, 3) Harvesting of Stochastic Populations Participants will be provided with housing, catered meals (breakfast and lunch), and subsidized travel to and from College Station.
