International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026 Travel Grant Program - Local Mathematicians
The American Mathematical Society (AMS) is pleased to offer
the International
Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026 Local Travel Grant Program to
U.S.-based mathematicians who live and work/study within
a 50-mile radius of the Pennsylvania Convention
Center. This program will provide partial support to attend
the ICM to be held July 23-30, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Selection for ICM 2026 Local Travel Grants will be based on
applicants’ eligibility for the program, their publications and research
record, the potential impact of the ICM on their professional development, and
need. Priority for funding will be
given to early-career mathematical scientists. (CMM side note: are we still prioritizing early career?)
What will this grant provide?
This grant will provide partial travel support to attend ICM
2026. The travel grants will be up to $828 for graduate student and $1,148 for
career grantees. Eligible expenses will include event registration and a per
diem for lunch and dinner for the days of July 23-30, 2026. (CMM side note: these amounts are include exact per diem, recommend rounding up)
Grantees are responsible for making their own travel
arrangements to the meeting, registering, and paying appropriate fees. Grantees
will attest to the number of days spent at ICM 2026 for reimbursement of meals
and show proof of attendance by taking and submitting a photograph of their ICM
2026 event badge.
What are the eligibility requirements for this grant?
Applicants must live and work/study in the United States and
have home and institution mailing addresses INSIDE
a 50-mile radius of the Pennsylvania Convention
Center.
What is the timeline for this grant?
- Applications
will be accepted until DATE.
- Applicants
will be notified of their application status in May 2026.
