program Description

Recent Perspectives on Moments of L-Functions is an NSF conference to be held at the University of Texas at Dallas on June 1-2, 2026

L-functions are fundamental objects in Number Theory which encode information about various arithmetic data. The conference will focus on the broad theme of investigating L-functions through their moments, highlighting recent advances in this area. We hope to bring together experts and beginning researchers to learn, exchange ideas, and stimulate further work in the subject. More information can be found on the conference website.

We have some funding available for participants (for travel, lodging, and meals). We strongly encourage students and early career mathematicians to apply. The application/registration process is as follows:

All interested participants should submit a CV and a brief statement of intent. Students should additionally arrange for one short letter of recommendation to be uploaded to this website.

Nothing elaborate is required: just submit a short version of each document. In your statement of intent, please explain why this conference is a good fit for your research plans.

If you do not need funding, then also mention that in your statement.

We will begin to review applications on March 1, 2026 and continue to review them while funding and space exist. This is not a hard deadline, but applications are strongly encouraged by this date because funding is limited.
