Institute for Advanced Study, School of Mathematics
program Description
Description:
Sponsored by Lisa Simonyi, the Minerva Research Foundation, the Robert S. Hillas Fund, Jane Street, the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation, and the Princeton University Department of Mathematics, WAM is an annual program designed to nurture emerging mathematicians of exceptional talent. WAM brings together mathematicians of promise at all career stages (including undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty) to IAS for a week-long workshop each year. Founded in 1994 with the mission to recruit and retain more women in mathematics, WAM is committed to identifying and supporting talent wherever it is found. Women and all who support its mission are welcome to apply.
This year's program will take place May 17-22, 2026, on the topic of Waves, Wave Packets, and Their Interactions; see https://www.ias.edu/math/wam/wam-2026 for detailed course descriptions.

- undergraduate students
- graduate students
- postdoctoral researchers and faculty
Funding:
