program Description
The Brin Mathematics Research Center (brinmrc.umd.edu) is a research center that sponsors activity in all areas of pure and applied mathematics and statistics. The Brin MRC is part of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park. A summer school on topics related to PDE and Probability will be held in the Brin MRC, August 5, 2024 - August 9, 2024. The school will offer an introduction to various areas in PDE and Probability in a broad sense, which are related to stochastic PDE, large deviation and metastability, branching processes and reaction diffusion equations, etc. The focus will be on the interaction between different branches and problems that incorporate multiple aspects of probability and analysis. We aim at bringing together a diversity of experts, postdocs, and students to compare perspectives and exchange ideas. We would like to solicit applications for participation in the summer school. The Brin MRC does not reimburse visa fees. Application materials: Each applicant must provide a current CV, a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) detailing relevant research experience and a statement of how the summer school will benefit their research, and a letter of recommendation.
