This is the application page for the 2021 Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program in Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science at Oregon State University. Holly Swisher will direct the program which will support 10 undergraduate students for eight weeks during the summer of 2021. Our web site provides a more detailed description of the program, descriptions of potential projects, and instructions on applying.
To apply you need to:
  • Fill out the information on this page
  • Write and upload a personal, diversity, and collaboration statement  telling us: (1) why you want to participate in the program, and how it would impact you future plans, (2) a description of your commitment and/or contributions to increasing diversity in STEM, and (3) what skills and/or approach you bring to collaborative work with a diverse group of people with varying backgrounds. Your statement should be no more than one page long.
  • Write and upload a mathematical statement describing a mathematical result you find particularly interesting, including something about its proof and/or applications. This statement should be written using latex, if possible.  It should also be no more that one page long.
  • Upload an unofficial transcript.
  • Provide names and email addresses of two faculty members who will upload letters of recommendation for you when they receive a prompt from mathprograms.org.
