program Description
MIT PRIMES is a year-long mathematics program in which high school students residing in Greater Boston work on individual and group research projects in mathematics and participate in reading groups under the guidance of academic mentors, usually graduate students or postdoctoral scholars.
High school juniors and sophomores residing in the United States but outside Greater Boston may apply to PRIMES-USA, a nationwide research program in mathematics.
Students residing outside the United States are not eligible for MIT PRIMES or PRIMES-USA. To get research experience, we recommend them to join CrowdMath, a massive free online collaborative year-long research project open to all high school and college students around the world (a joint program with the Art of Problem Solving).
