Mathematics Department, Lafayette College

Lafayette's 2018 REU program is an intensive eight-week summer research experience, with an additional week spent preparing for and participating in a national conference.  Through close mentorship from their faculty advisors, small student research groups will investigate open problems in mathematics and statistics and share their work in the form of articles, posters, and presentations.

The summer program will run from June 4 to July 27.  Students will then participate in the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Baltimore (January 16-19, 2019).  For many additional details about the program, including full descriptions of the three research areas (Geometry, Graph Theory, and Statistics), please visit

If one of the three research group descriptions sounds exciting, we encourage you to submit an application!  First-generation college students and students from underrepresented groups or institutions without a strong undergraduate research program are particularly encouraged to apply.
