program Description
The Brin Mathematics Research Center (brinmrc.umd.edu) is a research center that sponsors activity in all areas of pure and applied mathematics and statistics. The Brin MRC is part of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Adinkras, proposed as a graph-theoretical tool for a mathematically precise reconceptualization of supersymmetry are the topic of the ABC Summer School. It will be held in the Brin MRC, August 3, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Adinkras, proposed as a graph-theoretical tool for a mathematically precise reconceptualization of supersymmetry will be discussed at the introductory level and with illustrations of current developments. Some properties linked to adinkras include (a.) error-correcting codes, (b.) Coxeter Groups, (c.) Grothendieck’s “dessins d’enfants,” (d.) permutahedra, (e.) Jacobians of associated Riemann surfaces, and (f.) rich combinatorial structures. Adinkras are forgetful functors of a different type of graphs, called ‘adynkras,’ related to Dynkin Labels that will also be covered. We would like to solicit applications for participation in the summer school. The Brin MRC does not reimburse visa fees. Application materials: Each applicant must provide a current CV, a statement of how the summer school will benefit their research, and a letter of recommendation. The statement should include a commitment to attend the summer school in its entirety. For best consideration please apply by June 1, 2026. For questions please email brinmrc@umd.edu.Application Materials Required:
- Submit the following items online at this website to complete your application:
- Curriculum Vitae
