Program

The Mathematics Department at the University of Connecticut anticipates running an REU program in the summer of 2017. The size of the program will depend on funding levels, however we expect to have a project in stochastic analysis and possibly projects in mathematics education, applications of stochastics to finance, and analysis and mathematical physics on fractals.

Funding

Applicants who are US nationals will be eligible for NSF funding; applications from non-US students will be considered, however such applicants are also encouraged to seek funding from other sources.

Mentors

Math REU coordinator: Luke Rogers

Fractals: Luke Rogers, Sasha Teplyaev, Patricia Alonso-Ruiz

Mathematics Education: Fabiana Cardetti

Stochastics: Masha Gordina, Phanuel Mariano, Fabrice Baudoin, Sasha Teplyaev, Patricia Alonso-Ruiz
