The objective of the program is to provide an opportunity for nine
carefully selected undergraduate students to learn firsthand the nature of
mathematical research. The participants will conduct independent
investigations, under the guidance of experienced researchers, on problems
in combinatorics, number theory, and graph theory.

Dates: May 31-August 6, 2020
Stipend: $5000 for the full 10 week period
Allowances: Travel up to $750; living expenses $1000; on-campus apartment housing
Location: University of Minnesota Duluth
Deadline: February 14, 2020

To be eligible, an applicant must be enrolled full time in the Fall of 2020
at a U.S. college or university and must be a U.S. citizen (or national) or
have permanent resident status. Applicants will be selected on the basis of
motivation, scholarly aptitude, and a projection of the likely
benefits to the participant and to the program.

A complete application consists of the standard cover sheet (ignore

citizenship status, date of birth, and permanent address), two letters of
recommendation, a transcript (it need not be official) OR a list of
all college/university level courses with grades, and a statement that
describes your academic interests, your long-term career plans, and
experiences that especially qualify you for participation.
