The Program for Research for Undergraduates (PRUV) is an undergraduate fellowship sponsored by the Duke Mathematics Department. Up to 8 Duke students with a sincere desire and the ability to carry out research in mathematical sciences will be selected as PRUV Fellows each year. The program consists of six weeks of one-on-one research by the PRUV Fellow, advised by a faculty member, during summer 2019. This is typically followed by a research independent study course with the same faculty member in the next academic year, culminating in a senior thesis that can be submitted for Graduation with Distinction honors.

PRUV is open only to current Duke students who will not have graduated before the program in summer 2019. We especially encourage juniors to apply. Students who are younger and/or more interested in collaborative research (involving multiple students on a single project) may want to apply to the related program DOmath, also sponsored by the Duke Mathematics Department.
