*** this program has been closed, and no new applications will be accepted. ***

This is a special scholarship program primarily for undergraduate mathematics or computer science majors. Funding to cover a substantial portion of the cost of enrollment for one semester of study in the Math in Moscow program at the Independent University of Moscow (IUM) will be provided. Occasionally, a scholarship may be awarded to a graduate student. These scholarships are funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and administered by the American Mathematical Society (AMS). Students MUST be either U.S. citizens or enrolled at a U.S. institution at the time they attend the MATH in MOSCOW program in order to apply for the scholarship, due to NSF restrictions.

Students must be willing to participate in an eight-year longitudinal survey in order to accept a scholarship. The longitudinal survey is part of the NSF-funded grant that funds these scholarships, the purpose of which is to track student outcomes through graduate school and/or early career paths following attendance in the Math in Moscow program.

Applicants must apply to BOTH the Math in Moscow program and to the Math in Moscow Scholarship program in order to be eligible for a scholarship. Deadlines and schedules for upcoming semesters are given on the IUM's Math in Moscow program web site at . The scholarship application is available below.
