AWM Workshop for Women Graduate Students and Recent Ph.D.s

When: An AWM Workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2013 SIAM Annual Meeting, San Diego, CA, July 8-12, 2013.

Recent Ph.D.s - Minisymposium II Applicants Apply Here

Format: The workshop will consist of a poster session by graduate students and two minisymposia featuring selected recent Ph.D.s, plus an informational minisymposium directed at starting a career. Through a grant provided by the US Department of Energy, AWM will offer partial funding for travel expenses for between fifteen and twenty workshop participants. Departments are urged to help graduate students and recent Ph.D.s obtain supplementary institutional support to attend the workshop presentations and the associated meetings

Recent Ph.D.s: AWM invites women who have completed their Ph.D. within the past five years to apply to present research talks in two minisymposia at the AWM Workshop held in conjunction with the 2013 SIAM Annual Meeting. Minisymposium II will address themes related to Mathematics of Planet Earth (MPE), in particular applied research in the areas of Mathematical Biology relevant to the study or analysis of biomolecular, biomedical, and physiological systems, ecological processes, environmental systems, and other complex interactions that contribute to our scientific understanding of terrestrial biomes and ecosystems.

Eligibility: Women with grants or other sources of support are welcome to apply. All non-US citizens must have a current US address.
