| The Causeway Baccalaureate Certificate Program at Northwestern University is a yearlong experience that seeks to increase the number of graduate students in the mathematical sciences from historically underrepresented groups. Beginning in July 2022, Causeway participants will undertake a rigorous program of study in foundational coursework, work closely with Northwestern faculty on appropriate research projects, and receive career mentoring while serving as mentors themselves.
Your application will be at no cost to you upon submission.
Application requirements:
1. Statement of Purpose: In 250-500 words, explain how Causeway would enable you to further your academic and career goals, and how your participation would advance the mission of the Program.
2. Three Letters of Recommendation: At least two of the three letters of recommendation must be from individuals who can address your academic potential.
3. Unofficial Transcripts
The Program encourages you to submit a Diversity Statement. In no more than 500 words, describe your experiences with and/or contributions to diversity and inclusion in the mathematical sciences. Causeway is committed to strengthening and broadening the mathematical sciences, specifically by increasing participation among individuals belonging to groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in graduate study and careers in the mathematical sciences (e.g., certain racial and ethnic minorities, women, first-generation college students, etc.). We invite you to share any experiences, events, or personal perspectives that might help the admissions committee better understand why Causeway is right for you. |
