program Description
What & When: The JMM workshop will include special sessions showcasing recent work by AWM Research Networks in Symplectic and Contact Geometry and Topology (WiSCon) and in Topology (WiT). A professional development panel, a mentoring luncheon, and a juried poster session for graduate students and recent PhDs, are all being organized by the AWM JMM organizing committee.
Eligibility: The Poster Session is open to all areas of research; graduate students working in areas related to Symplectic and Contact Geometry and Topology are especially encouraged to apply. To be eligible for selection and funding, a graduate student must have made substantial progress towards their thesis.
Funding: Thanks to a generous gift from Jane Street, the AWM will offer travel support to all participants selected for this session.
All applications should include:
- a title and abstract for the proposed poster in the form required for AMS Special Session submissions for the Joint Mathematics Meetings
- a curriculum vitae
- one letter of recommendation from your thesis advisor
It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure that letter of recommendation is submitted by August 15, 2026.
