REU Site: Complexity Across Disciplines (CAD)
May 30 - July 30, 2017

The REU CAD program is a nine week summer program in which undergraduate students experience research in combinatorics, number theory, algebra, and game theory motivated by applications to search optimization, information security, or genome biology. The nature of computing and complexity is the central unifying focus of the program.

The program, as member of the Alliance of Summer Undergraduate Research Programs at Boise State University, exposes the participants to a myriad of learning and research opportunities. The students have an opportunity to interact with intellectual peers from a variety of disciplines and be part of an academically rich social environment.

Awarded students will receive a stipend, three undergraduate college credits, free on-campus housing, an allowance for meals, funds for travel expenses to and from the REU site and funding to support travel to an upcoming national conference.

ELIGIBILITY

We welcome applications from current undergraduate students with strong interests in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Applicants must not yet have graduated with an undergraduate degree at the time of the REU. Underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States and its possessions are eligible for fellowships from the National Science Foundation.

We welcome foreign undergraduates attending a US educational institution who have funding from other sources to also apply to our program.
