This is the application page for the 2012 Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program in Mathematics at Oregon State University. This year is the 26th year that OSU has offered an REU Program in Mathematics!
Holly Swisher is directing the program this year. The program will support 10 undergraduate students and will run for eight weeks during the summer of 2012.
Our web site provides a more detailed description of the program, descriptions of potential projects, and instructions on applying.
To apply you need to:
- Fill out the information on this page
- Write and upload a cover note telling us why you want to participate in the program and what you currently see as your future plans. Your note should be no more than one page long.
- Write and upload a second short note telling us the deepest or most interesting mathematical result you know and perhaps explain something about its proof and/or applications. Your note should be no more that one page long.
- Upload an informal transcript.
- Provide names and email addresses of two faculty members who will upload letters of recommendation for you when they receive a prompt from mathprograms.org.
