Summer 2013 Research Experience For Undergraduates

Our 11th annual REU program in combinatorics will be held in the summer of 2013,at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
We expect at least 6-8 participants to spend 8 weeks in residence sometime between May 27, 2013 and August 2, 2013.
Exact dates will be determined later.
Research topics are not yet been determined, but one can get a sense of potential subjects from the previous REU reports
Application materials:
- Standard cover sheet, ignoring "current title/dates", "highest degree/institution/dates"
- a list of undergraduate math courses taken or in progress, with course grades indicated; this does not need to be an official transcript.
- 2 letters of recommendation
- a brief statement of interest in the program.
Within the statement of interest, indicate whether you
are a US citizen or green card holder,
and if neither, indicate your citizenship and US visa status;
you do not need to provide a copy of your visa.
To participate, students must have not yet completed their undergraduate degree by summer 2012. Students who are US citizens or green card holders will receive a stipend of $6000, from which room and board expenses for dormitory and meal plan are deducted if they live in the dormitory.
Non-citizens may still apply, and can be reimbursed for University dorm room and meal plan costs, as well as reasonable travel expenses up to $500 (reimbursement to and from your home institution or your residence within the United States) |
