In this program, undergraduate students spend eight weeks doing research work in discrete math: combinatorics, discrete probability, theoretical computer science, and other related topics. Each participant is closely mentored by an active researcher. We are based in CUNY's Baruch College, located at the heart of Manhattan.

We look for ambitious undergraduates who are strongly motivated to work on research problems. The participants will also receive training in topics such as giving talks, writing proofs, and applying to grad school. We keep supporting the participants for many years, as they continue with their studies and careers.

While we are serious about our research, another goal of the program is to create a supportive and accepting community of people who are enthusiastic about mathematics. People who would continue to support and encourage each other in future years. This community also includes participants from previous summers. We dedicate time to discuss topics such as having a healthy and fulfilling mathematical careers, how to support the community around you, and so on.

Women and students from underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

See our webpage for details such as stipends, dates, the mentors, research topics, eligibility, and papers produced in previous years.
